What the job is:
This job is for a Cashier at Brights Hardware in Langebaan, Western Cape. The role involves ensuring customers have a smooth shopping experience while maintaining efficient cash handling processes. Your work will contribute to business growth through excellent service and accurate sales records.

What you will do:
- Greet customers and provide a welcoming experience
- Follow cash register procedures, including cash and electronic payment processing
- Ensure accurate and quick sales entry on the cash register
- Pack customer items neatly into shopping bags
- Handle cash security with proper cash drops to supervisors
- Track daily cash totals and monitor for suspicious activity
- Inform customers about promotions and special products
- Issue gift cards and check reward cards
- Maintain a clean work area and assist with stock counts

What you need:
- At least Matric qualification
- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role (helpful)
- Completion of Brights Hardware's induction training
- Clear credit score
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle pressure during busy periods
- Strong attention to detail for financial accuracy
- Team player with ability to work independently
- Willingness to work flexible hours including holidays
