Job Description
What the job is: This job is for a Hygiene and Cleaning Trainer (On-The-Job Facilitator) at Empact Group, based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) in the Eastern Cape. You will help workers learn the right cleaning and hygiene skills by training them directly at their workplaces. The role involves traveling to different client sites to teach employees and learners how to meet the company’s standards for cleanliness and safety.
What you will do: You will train employees and learners on-site at various client locations, teaching them the skills needed for proper hygiene and cleaning. Your job will include checking sites to see what training is needed and ensuring workers meet the required standards. You may need to work night shifts to support training schedules.
You will work closely with the Training Coordinator to plan and deliver training programs, including creating lesson plans and keeping records of training sessions. You will assess workers to ensure they understand and can perform the tasks correctly. After training, you will write reports and evaluate how well the training worked.
You will need to stay updated on the latest cleaning and hygiene practices, as well as new opportunities for training. Attending meetings with stakeholders (like managers or clients) will also be part of your role to ensure everyone is aligned on training goals.
What you need: To qualify for this job, you need at least a Matric certificate. Having a further education and training certificate in Occupational Development, Education, Training, and Development (ODETD) at NQF Level 4 is advantageous. Being registered as an assessor and moderator with SSETA for cleaning-related qualifications (NQF Levels 1, 2, and 3) is also helpful.
Experience in the cleaning industry or related qualifications will strengthen your application. You should have good planning, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and take the initiative. Being well-groomed, computer-literate (especially Microsoft Office), and able to travel and work flexible hours (including nights) are important.
What you will get: This is a permanent full-time position with Empact Group, offering stability and growth opportunities. While the salary range is not mentioned, the role provides hands-on training experience in a growing industry. You will gain skills in assessment, report writing, and working with different teams. The company values diversity and follows employment equity policies, so preference may be given to candidates meeting specific equity requirements.
