This is a contract position for a Senior Furnace Technician at Kamoa Copper, a large copper mining operation in Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role involves managing the technical operations of the flash smelting furnace system, ensuring safe and efficient operation in line with production goals. Responsibilities include monitoring key process parameters, conducting equipment inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Collaboration with other teams and cost management are also key aspects of the role. The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering, with at least six years of experience in smelting operations, preferably in copper smelting. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is advantageous. The position offers a 24-month contract with benefits including housing or relocation support.
