This job is for a Group Engineering Manager at Amaro Foods, a company in the food manufacturing industry. You will be based in Cape Town, Western Cape, and will lead engineering and maintenance operations across the group. The role focuses on ensuring equipment and facilities meet legal and industry standards while improving efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage maintenance plans for all equipment used by the company.
- Develop technical strategies, documents, and contracts to ensure high-quality, consistent, and efficient engineering work.
- Design and implement a long-term plan for facilities and equipment, working closely with site teams.
- Manage asset care across the group, analyze data from the maintenance management system (CMMS), and provide monthly reports.
- Improve machine efficiency, manage projects like major repairs and new installations, and ensure effective use of maintenance resources.
- Lead the implementation of 5S standards and manage capital expenditure (Capex) projects.
- Ensure new machines are designed to work well in production and assist with new product development.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and best practices for equipment maintenance.
- Manage maintenance managers and their teams, including performance reviews, staff scheduling, and training.
- Prepare and approve budgets, feasibility studies, and technical contracts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food regulations.
- Supervise contractors to ensure adherence to Amaro Foods’ standards and policies.

Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in a relevant engineering field.
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance management.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is preferred.
- Strong project management skills.
