A leading telecommunications company based in South Africa is looking for an Intermediate Java Developer to join their team in Centurion, Gauteng. This is a 12-month contract position focused on a major modernization project for one of South Africa’s largest telecom operators. The project is being delivered by an established international technology group.

**Responsibilities:**
- Build and maintain Java services on a large-scale telecom billing and operations platform.
- Write and improve complex SQL queries for MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Deploy and support containerized services on Linux environments.
- Integrate systems using message queues and enterprise integration patterns.
- Collaborate in Scrum/Agile teams and contribute to the development lifecycle using Git.

**Requirements:**
- Relevant IT qualification (e.g., Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT).
- 4-6 years of commercial Java development experience with J2EE and Spring frameworks.
- Linux, Bash scripting, server administration, and Docker/Kubernetes experience.
- Knowledge of message queueing systems (RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ) and J2EE containers.
- Experience with testing processes (FAT/UAT) and tools like Postman.
