A well-known civil construction company based in Cape Town, Western Cape, is looking for an experienced Construction Manager or Site Agent. This role is perfect for someone with strong leadership skills and a solid background in managing civil construction projects. You will be responsible for overseeing projects like pipelines, roads, earthworks, concrete structures, and reservoirs to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

As the Construction Manager or Site Agent, you will plan and manage all aspects of civil construction projects from start to finish. This includes overseeing the construction of pipelines, roads, earthworks, concrete works, and reservoirs. You will lead and coordinate teams of workers, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure smooth on-site operations.

Key responsibilities include creating and monitoring project timelines using software like MS Project, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and legal standards (SANS 1200 and GCC), tracking project progress, costs, quality, and deadlines, and maintaining detailed records and documentation. Collaboration with clients, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders is essential, with a focus on safety, health, and environmental compliance.

Requirements include a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (e.g., BEng, BSc, BTech, or National Diploma) and 5-8 years of experience in managing civil construction projects. Registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is advantageous. Proficiency in construction methods, standards, MS Office, and project management software is required.
