Job Description
Motus Autoworx, a well-known company in the car repair industry, is looking for a trustworthy and responsible person to work as a Parts Stripper at their Durban Speed Shop. This job involves taking apart and putting together vehicle parts as part of the repair process, following strict quality standards. The role is based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, and is a permanent position.
As a Parts Stripper, your main tasks will include carefully removing and reassembling vehicle parts based on job instructions or guidance from your supervisor. You will follow safety and quality procedures to ensure everything is done correctly. This means keeping track of all disassembled parts, moving vehicles to the right areas in the workshop, and checking for any paint defects before reassembly. You will also help the production team keep work flowing smoothly and meet repair targets. Operating and maintaining assembly tools, setting up your workspace, and documenting any issues during the process will also be part of your job. Additionally, you may assist in training new team members on how to do these tasks properly.
To qualify for this job, you need at least one year of experience working with vehicle paint processes. A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent is required. You must have a valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license, as well as basic computer skills. Strong communication in English, both speaking and writing, is essential. The job requires attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and good organizational skills. You should be physically fit, as the role involves standing, bending, and lifting. Teamwork and reliability are also important, as you will work alongside others to complete tasks efficiently.
This is a permanent position with a company that values quality and safety in the automotive industry. While the salary range is not specified, the role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to different vehicle repair processes. The job may require occasional overtime, weekend work, or shift work depending on the needs of the workshop. Safety equipment will be provided, as the role involves exposure to paint fumes and chemicals. The position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to grow in the automotive repair field.
