This is a contract position for the Academic Head of Department in the Department of Public Administration and Management at the University of the Free State (UFS). The role is based at the Bloemfontein Campus with some responsibilities at the Qwaqwa Campus. Only full-time permanent academic staff currently working in the same department at UFS will be considered. The contract lasts for 5 years with possible renewal. Responsibilities include leading departmental strategy, teaching, research, staff development, and representing the department externally. Requirements: PhD in Public Administration or related field, current full-time permanent academic staff member (professor, associate professor, or senior lecturer), strong leadership skills, and strategic thinking.
