This job is for a Category Manager at Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited, based in Midrand, Gauteng. As a Category Manager, you will create and carry out strategies to grow product categories in a way that makes the business more profitable. This includes deciding which products to sell, how much space they should take up in stores, and setting prices that attract customers while keeping costs under control. You will also make sure the company’s online and in-store shopping experiences work well together to improve sales and profits.

You will work closely with teams like buying, marketing, and store operations to ensure smooth operations. This includes talking to suppliers, planning promotions, and ensuring compliance with rules and agreements. You will use data and customer insights to make informed decisions about product offerings and sales strategies.

Another key responsibility is ensuring compliance with pricing and promotional rules. You will track category performance, verify contract adherence, and foster team collaboration to meet business goals.

To qualify, you need either a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or at least 5 to 7 years of experience in retail or category management for FMCG. Experience in team leadership and data-driven decision-making is essential. Strong knowledge of pricing, product selection, supplier management, and promotions is required.
