Job Description
This is a Conservation Manager position for Zakouma National Park in Chad. African Parks Network is seeking a skilled professional to lead biodiversity conservation efforts in the Zakouma ecosystem. The role involves managing ecological monitoring, research, and conservation programs to protect wildlife and habitats. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the annual conservation plan, organizing ecological monitoring programs (aerial surveys, camera traps, collaring animals), managing habitats, tracking species populations, and leading research initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a degree in ecology or related field, 3+ years of experience in wildlife management, strong organizational and team leadership skills, and fluency in English. Proficiency in French or Chadian Arabic is a plus. This is a 24-month contract position with opportunities to work in one of Africa's most critical conservation areas.
