Job Description
The University of the Free State (UFS) invites qualified researchers to join the Disaster Management Training and Education Centre for Africa (DiMTEC) as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. This one-year position (renewable for up to three years) focuses on climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and related fields. Based at the Bloemfontein Campus, the role involves leading research projects to support community preparedness, analyzing climate adaptation and disaster risk management data, and producing peer-reviewed publications. Applicants must hold a PhD (within the last five years) in a relevant discipline, demonstrate research experience, and be able to relocate to Bloemfontein. The fellowship offers R270,000 annually plus R30,000 for research expenses.
