This is a contract position for a Festive Season Sales Assistant at Old Khaki, located in Hillcrest Mall, Durban. You will work for Cape Union Mart International, a well-known retailer, and help support their busy holiday season. The role requires working around 120 hours per month, with flexible shifts including evenings and weekends during peak festive times.

As a Festive Season Sales Assistant, your main job will be to assist customers and help them find what they need. You will use friendly and helpful selling techniques to ensure customers leave happy and satisfied. You will also ensure the store follows rules to prevent stock loss, such as monitoring inventory and reporting issues.

Another important part of your job is to meet daily sales targets. You will look for ways to increase sales, such as suggesting products or highlighting special offers. Keeping the store clean and well-organized is also part of your role, as a tidy and attractive store helps sell more products. You will greet customers warmly and create a fun and welcoming work environment.

No prior experience is required for this role, as it is entry-level. However, having at least six months of experience in retail would be helpful. You must have completed Matric or an equivalent qualification. A clean criminal record is necessary, as you will handle cash and other financial tasks.

You should be able to speak and understand English well, as you will be communicating with customers and team members daily. Strong customer service skills are a must, and you should have a friendly, confident, and approachable personality. Being able to work well with others, adapt to new situations, and take responsibility for your tasks are also important.

You must be available to work from Monday to Sunday, including regular store hours and extra hours during the busy festive season, which may include evenings and weekends.
