Job Description
This job is for a Desktop Support Engineer at iOCO, a company that creates software solutions for real-world problems. The role is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, and involves fixing and maintaining computers, printers, and other technology for employees. Responsibilities:
- Fix and maintain computers, printers, and other devices for employees.
- Handle everyday tasks like setting up new computers, installing software, and resetting passwords.
- Monitor and manage employee requests, updating managers on progress.
- Assist users with common software problems, including Microsoft Office and in-house applications.
- Arrange technician visits for unresolved issues.
- Set up and maintain phone systems, including installing and troubleshooting handsets.
- Support mobile devices, ensuring proper network connectivity.
- Deploy software updates and new releases using scripts.
- Provide support for Apple Mac computers and iOS devices.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors for complex issues.
Requirements:
- At least some experience in IT support (associate level preferred).
- Understanding of computers, printers, and networks.
- Experience with hardware/software troubleshooting and Microsoft applications/operating systems.
- Familiarity with Apple devices and mobile technology is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.
- Problem-solving skills and reliability with sensitive information.
- No specific degree required, but IT qualifications/experience are beneficial.
