This job is for a Groundsman to work at Faircape Life’s beautiful retirement and lifestyle village in Tokai, part of the Southern Suburbs in the Western Cape. Faircape Life manages six luxury estates across the Western Cape, and they are looking for someone who loves working outdoors and takes pride in keeping gardens and outdoor spaces looking their best. As a Groundsman, you will be responsible for keeping the gardens at Tokai Estate looking their best. This includes pruning trees and shrubs, cutting grass, trimming lawns, maintaining flowerbeds, watering plants, removing weeds, and managing tools and machinery like lawnmowers and hedge trimmers. You will also handle waste management, clean courtyards, paved areas, and healthcare grounds, and ensure the perimeter fence is weed-free.

To apply, you don’t need formal qualifications, but a Matric certificate is helpful. At least one year of experience in a similar role or gardening knowledge is required. You should be able to lift heavy objects, follow health and safety rules, and work independently or as part of a team. A clean health, criminal, and credit record is mandatory.

Faircape Life offers a permanent position with a market-related salary, quarterly performance bonuses, long-service leave, and discounts on internet services after probation. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 45-minute lunch break.
