This job is for a Mine Planner with experience in Chrome mining. A mining company based in Rustenburg, North West, is looking for someone to lead their mine planning team. Responsibilities include creating and updating the Life-of-Mine (LOM) plan, yearly budgets, and business plans. The role involves designing optimal extraction methods for Chrome ore, managing road, ramp, and waste dump construction, and preparing ore reserve reports. Key tasks also include daily, weekly, and monthly production planning, ore grade tracking, equipment efficiency monitoring, and collaboration with surveyors and geologists. The candidate must ensure adherence to planned designs and adjust as needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma (Grade 12), a degree in Mining Engineering, a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency, and a Blasting Certificate. At least 15-20 years of mining experience, with 6-10 years in Chrome open-pit planning, is required. Proficiency in mine planning software (Surpac, Datamine, Vulcan, Deswik, Minescape, Whittle, MineSched, AutoCAD) and knowledge of mining laws (SAMREC, MPRDA, MHSA, DMRE) are essential. A valid driver’s license is mandatory. The salary is negotiable based on experience, with benefits including a permanent full-time position and paid time off.
