Job Description
This job is for an EC&I Draughtsman at Lesedi, a company based in Centurion, Gauteng. You will be responsible for creating detailed electrical, control, and instrumentation (EC&I) drawings and 3D models for projects from start to finish. Your work will ensure that all drawings meet project requirements, company standards, and engineering rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create accurate 2D and 3D EC&I drawings and models to support projects.
- Design electrical and instrumentation layouts, including wiring diagrams, lighting plans, cable routes, and equipment placement.
- Update drawings whenever changes are made to the project.
- Work closely with engineers to develop designs and interpret technical instructions.
- Prepare detailed drawings for equipment arrangements and extract material lists.
- Check all drawings for mistakes and ensure compliance with company rules for numbering and revisions.
- Coordinate with other teams to avoid conflicts in models and attend meetings to discuss designs.
- Assist in resolving issues related to drawings during construction and ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- National Certificate (NQF 4) in Draughting or Engineering Drawing (required).
- National Diploma (NQF 6) in Engineering Draughting, Engineering Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 2 to 4 years of experience in engineering draughting, especially in EPC projects.
- Knowledge of EC&I drawing standards, electrical and instrumentation layouts, and CAD/3D modeling tools.
- Proficiency in AutoDesk AEC, Autodesk Revit, and Navisworks Manage.
- Strong attention to detail, good teamwork, and ability to work independently.
- Effective time management and clear communication skills.
