Job Description
Juru Holdings is looking for an experienced Information Security Analyst to help protect the company’s information and ensure compliance with security rules and laws. This role is based in Cape Town, Western Cape, and involves assessing security risks, compliance, and adherence to legal requirements like POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act). The position is a contract role with a term of six months.
As an Information Security Analyst, you will identify security risks and vulnerabilities in company systems and processes. You will develop and update security policies, standards, and procedures to mitigate threats. Your responsibilities include reviewing data handling practices to ensure compliance with POPIA and other regulations.
You will collaborate with internal teams to address security issues and ensure all stakeholders understand their roles in data security. This includes risk tracking, documenting security controls, and supporting internal and external audits. Staying updated on security trends and regulatory changes will be essential to advise the company on best practices.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in information security, risk management, or compliance.
- Hands-on experience with risk assessments and security controls.
- Knowledge of POPIA and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with security policies, standards, or governance processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate security needs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail for documenting risks and compliance activities.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in IT, information security, risk, or compliance, or relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
