This is a fixed-term job opportunity for a Dispensary Support Assistant at Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Savannah Mall, Polokwane. The role is designed for learners who want to complete the basic pharmacist assistant course. Once you finish the course and register with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC), you may be offered permanent employment. The position is temporary until you qualify as a basic pharmacist assistant.

As a Dispensary Support Assistant, you will help with various tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, including selling Schedule 1 medicines, assisting with preparing and packing medicines, and maintaining the dispensary's cleanliness. You will learn to read and interpret prescriptions, check medication accuracy, and assist with stock control, including managing expiry dates and reporting low stock levels. Additional duties include handling call center scripts, following up on patient appointments, and assisting with chronic, HIV, and oncology medication schemes.

Requirements: Grade 12 certificate (Matric) with at least 50% in Pure Mathematics, Life Science, or Physical Science, and an overall average of 50%. Must pass a proficiency test for registration with the Pharmacy Council. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Computer skills and a customer-service mindset are advantageous.
