Job Description
This is a full-time Business Unit Manager position at iOCO, a consulting services company based in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role involves managing a business unit with focus areas including human resources, legal, and compliance. The company specializes in innovative software solutions and works across multiple industries to solve complex business challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business strategy, annual plans, budgets, and growth priorities for the consulting unit.
- Ensure financial targets (revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, cash flow) are met.
- Manage sales pipeline, identify new business opportunities, and convert them into profitable engagements.
- Build and maintain client relationships, oversee proposals, renewals, and cross-selling.
- Provide strategic and operational oversight for consulting areas like labor, environmental, commercial, energy, mining, and property.
- Monitor project delivery, team utilization, quality, profitability, and operational risks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop managers and consultants.
- Ensure compliance with laws, professional standards, contracts, and ethical guidelines.
- Improve processes, productivity, and customer outcomes.
- Drive innovation, develop new service offerings, and explore partnerships.
Requirements:
- 8-10 years of experience in legal, advisory, professional, or consulting services.
- 5+ years of management experience leading teams of managers/consultants.
- Proven track record in managing revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, margins, budgets, and cash flow.
- Experience in business development, pipeline management, and converting opportunities.
- Relevant degree in education, HR, business management, law, compliance, or related field.
- Preferred: Postgraduate degree, MBA, or additional qualifications in quality management, occupational health, environmental management, governance, risk, compliance, or adult education.
