Faircape Health Institute in Tokai Estate is looking for experienced doctors to work as locum doctors. This is a part-time role where you will help patients recovering from surgeries, hospital stays, or serious illnesses. The job is based in the Southern Suburbs of the Western Cape, and you will work mostly on weekends with some weekday shifts when needed.

What you will do:
- Check patients on arrival, including physical exams, reviewing medical history, and creating care plans.
- Create and update treatment plans, manage medications, and oversee rehabilitation programs.
- Collaborate with nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed, and communicate clearly with patients and families.
- Maintain detailed medical records on the Healthware digital system.
- Provide urgent medical advice over the phone when required (not home visits unless emergency).
- Build relationships with referring doctors.

What you need:
- MBChB qualification.
- At least 3 years of post-community service experience.
- Preference for experience in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, or palliative care.
- Ability to work in a team with healthcare professionals.
- Strong medical decision-making, critical thinking, and ethical standards.
- Good communication skills, attention to detail, and calmness in emergencies.
- Clean health, criminal, and credit records.
- Two written references, valid medical indemnity insurance, and active HPCSA registration.

What you will get:
- Guaranteed weekend shifts (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM–1:00 PM).
- Pay: R1,264 for Saturday, R1,900 for Sunday, plus R190 per patient.
- Weekday shifts: R575 per hour.
- Emergency phone support only when necessary (no home visits unless urgent).
