Faircape, a leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) based in Cape Town, is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their technical team. Faircom, a division of Faircape, provides high-speed internet, fibre, wireless, and VoIP services to homes and businesses. This role is perfect for someone with strong networking experience who wants to work on real-world ISP infrastructure, including fibre, routing, switching, and wireless networks.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for handling complex network problems and ensuring the network runs smoothly. Your tasks will include fixing and improving the network infrastructure, managing routing and switching systems, and troubleshooting issues like connectivity problems, slow speeds, or service outages. You will also work on setting up new network sites, planning upgrades, and ensuring the network can handle more users without slowing down. Other key responsibilities include monitoring network performance, managing VoIP services, and supporting other team members with technical guidance.

To succeed in this role, you need strong experience in network engineering, especially in ISP or telecommunications environments. Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, and network security is essential. Experience with network platforms like MikroTik, Cisco, Juniper, or Ubiquiti is a plus. A relevant qualification in IT, computer science, or networking is helpful.
