This job is for a Buyer at Pepkor Lifestyle, based in Sandton, Gauteng. You will work in the Group Merchandise department, focusing on small, large, and seasonal appliances. Your role is to help grow the company by creating well-balanced product ranges for different brands. You will use both internal and external sources to track trends and create quarterly reports on product performance, range reviews, and post-seasonal sales. These reports will be shared with retail heads and will include sales, customer, and trend data. You will manage the entire product process, from design and development to ensuring products are ready for sale in stores. This includes developing strategies to phase out old products while maintaining profits. You will build strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices, secure exclusive deals, and ensure product quality. You will also work with global trends to create locally relevant products, focusing on furniture and accessories. You will monitor stock levels and delivery timelines, analyze weekly trade feedback to improve sales, and reduce discounts. Additionally, you will support Marketing and Operations teams, deliver excellent customer experiences, and mentor junior planners.
