What the job is

This is a full-time IT Manager position at Steinmuller Africa, a company in the construction industry based in Sandton, Gauteng. The role involves leading the company’s technology department to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient IT operations that support business goals.

What you will do

You will develop and implement the company’s IT strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives. You will manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud systems, and enterprise applications, while ensuring high availability and performance. You will lead cybersecurity efforts, including risk assessments, security audits, and incident response. You will also oversee IT projects, vendor relationships, budget management, and team leadership. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with data protection laws like POPIA and maintain disaster recovery plans.

What you need

You need a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of IT experience, including 3 years in a leadership role. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ITIL are preferred. You should have strong knowledge of cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure, AWS), cybersecurity frameworks, networking, and IT governance. Experience in digital transformation, project management, and vendor contract negotiations is also required. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
