What the job is

This is an internship position for a Human Resources Intern at Melomed Private Hospitals SA, based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, Western Cape. The role is temporary and offers hands-on experience in the healthcare industry, specifically within the HR department.

What you will do

You will provide general administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department. This includes assisting with recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for new employees. You will coordinate, track, and follow up on recruitment packs and HR documentation submitted by hospitals to Head Office, making sure everything is complete and authorized on time. You will maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and filing systems. Additionally, you will assist with employee relations and payroll administration as needed. You will support HR projects, initiatives, and general departmental activities. It is important to ensure confidentiality and accurate handling of all employee information. You may also be asked to perform other HR administrative duties from time to time.

What you need

You must have completed Grade 12 and hold a National Diploma or proof of completion of an N6 Qualification in Human Resources Management. Basic knowledge and understanding of HR principles and practices are required. You should have good computer skills and be willing to learn HR-related systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with organizational and administrative abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy are important, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team. You must be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Reliability and eagerness to learn and develop skills within the HR field are also key.
