What the job is
This is a 2-year contract position for an International Relations Officer at the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) in Centurion, Gauteng. The role focuses on supporting and managing international partnerships, diplomatic engagements, and global cooperation in the aviation industry.
What you will do
You will help plan and coordinate international relations activities, including implementing strategies, promoting global aviation standards, and supporting regional cooperation programs. You will prepare briefing documents, manage state letters, update contact lists, and organize trip reports. You will also assist in arranging international visits, conferences, and meetings, while working closely with government branches to ensure policy alignment. Additionally, you will represent South Africa in international aviation forums, manage relationships with organizations like ICAO and AFCAC, and ensure compliance with protocols and reporting requirements.
What you need
You must have a National Diploma in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in these areas is an advantage. You need at least 3 years of experience in international relations, political science, stakeholder relations, or a similar field. Knowledge of aviation regulations and diplomatic processes will be beneficial.
