What the job is
This is a contract role for a Superintendent II specializing in Monitoring and Evaluation and Business Efficiency at Ivanhoe Mines’ Kamoa Copper project. The position is based in Kolwezi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and is part of the Sustainability team. Kamoa Copper is a large mining operation focused on copper production in the Central African Copperbelt.
What you will do
You will design and manage systems to track the performance of local community businesses and ensure they operate efficiently. Your role includes creating data collection tools, analyzing data to measure success, and preparing reports to share findings with stakeholders. You will also conduct field visits to check progress, train teams, and manage relationships with partners to improve business processes. Additionally, you will oversee budgets, drive sustainability initiatives, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
What you need
You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Social Sciences, International Development, Statistics, or a related field, with a preference for a degree in Monitoring and Evaluation. At least 8 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation is required, including 3 years in the mining industry. Fluency in English is essential, and French is highly beneficial. Strong skills in data analysis, project management, communication, and leadership are also necessary.
