What the job is

This is a contract role for a Monitoring and Evaluation and Business Efficiency Superintendent at Ivanhoe Mines, specifically for the Kamoa Copper project. The job is based in Kolwezi, which is in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kamoa Copper is a large mining operation focused on copper extraction in the Central African Copperbelt region.

What you will do

You will design and manage systems to track the performance of local community businesses and ensure they operate efficiently. You will create tools to collect data, analyze it, and present reports to stakeholders. You will monitor projects to ensure they meet targets, conduct field visits to check progress, and share lessons learned with teams. You will also manage relationships with stakeholders, oversee financial forecasting for community business plans, and ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are followed.

What you need

You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Social Sciences, International Development, Statistics, or a related field. A degree in Monitoring and Evaluation is preferred. You need at least 8 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, with at least 3 of those years in a mining environment. You must be fluent in English, and French is a strong advantage. Skills in data analysis, project management, communication, and leadership are essential.
