What the job is
This is a job for a Regional Secretary at the Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO) in Pretoria, Gauteng. MIBCO is a large organization that helps employers and employees in the South African motor industry work together fairly. It has offices across the country, including satellite offices in Polokwane, Nelspruit, Witbank, and Rustenburg, which this role will oversee.
What you will do
You will align the regional goals with the national goals of MIBCO. You will manage the daily operations of the Northern Region, including the satellite offices. You will communicate with businesses about collective agreements to promote good workplace relations. You will manage relationships with stakeholders, ensure new businesses are registered, and oversee annual inspections. You will handle legal collections through MIBCO’s dispute resolution process and manage credit control for the region. You will also host and attend regional and national meetings, manage human resources, develop staff, conduct performance appraisals, and create and manage the regional budget.
What you need
You need a BA, LLB, or Business Management degree, or an equivalent qualification. You must have at least 10 years of experience in collective bargaining and 5 years in senior management. Knowledge of MIBCO’s collective agreements and fund agreements is a plus. You should have experience in labor relations, human resource management, financial management, performance management, and project management. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and IT skills are required, including proficiency in SAGE and Microsoft 365.
