What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Maintenance Head at iOCO (andbeyond) in Kenya. The role involves overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure that lodge facilities, equipment, vehicles, and technical systems are safe, functional, and well-maintained.

What you will do

You will lead and supervise a team of mechanics and maintenance staff, assigning daily tasks and conducting team briefings to discuss priorities and issues. You will inspect lodge facilities and key systems like water treatment, generators, solar systems, HVAC, and electrical panels. You will assist with and oversee urgent repairs, such as plumbing leaks or electrical issues, and ensure all equipment and vehicles are in working order. You will also coordinate with subcontractors, monitor fuel and gas levels, and maintain stock of tools and consumables. Additionally, you will keep detailed records of completed work, equipment usage, and resolved issues.

What you need

You must have strong technical knowledge of maintenance systems, including electrical, plumbing, solar, and HVAC. You should have proven experience leading and supervising a team, along with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with sustainability practices in maintenance operations and proficiency in record-keeping and reporting are required. A valid driver’s license is also necessary.
