What the job is

This is a Project Manager role with African Parks Network, based in Moukalaba-Doudou National Park, Gabon. The job is part of the Priority Support Plan (PSP) to manage and develop the park and its operations. You will work under a contract for 12 months, leading a team to improve conservation efforts and community relationships in Gabon.

What you will do

You will coordinate all activities under the Priority Support Plan to meet its goals and deadlines. Your role includes managing the daily operations of Moukalaba-Doudou and Wonga Wongue parks, leading the PSP team, and representing African Parks to stakeholders. You will develop and implement strategies for park management, including a five-year business plan, tourism development, and financial management. Additionally, you will ensure safety, handle crisis management, and build strong relationships with local communities and government agencies.

What you need

You need 10-15 years of experience in conservation management, preferably in national parks or protected areas, with at least 5 years in a similar leadership role. Knowledge of conservation issues in Gabon is essential. Strong skills in financial management, project management, and stakeholder relationships are required. You must be fluent in both French and English, resilient under pressure, and able to work in multicultural environments. Leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills are also important.
