What the job is

The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa) is looking for a Project Manager to work in the North West province. This role involves overseeing important projects in a multi-disciplinary environment, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to the planned scope.

What you will do

You will manage the execution of projects by following project plans, budgets, and schedules. You will handle change requests, track project progress, and control documents. You will develop project scopes, plans, deliverables, budgets, and milestones, and prepare reports for management and clients. You will monitor schedules for delays, prepare presentations, and support contract preparation and reviews. You will assign tasks to teams, ensure client needs are met, and oversee procurement. You will act as the main point of contact for project updates, work with the Technical Lead to prevent scope changes, and maintain detailed project documentation. You will ensure all project standards are met, coordinate with stakeholders, chair meetings, and comply with safety and quality requirements. You will also manage configuration within projects.

What you need

You must have a BSc in Science, BTech in Engineering, or a BA/BCOM degree with Project Management certification. You need at least three years of experience in project management within a multi-disciplinary EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) or commercial environment. Knowledge of Necsa’s objectives, nuclear facilities, nuclear technology, project budgeting, and contract management is required. You should be skilled in using MS Office tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Projects. Strong planning, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
