What the job is

This is a full-time Handyperson job at Growthpoint Properties, based at Walmer Park Shopping Centre in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. The role involves maintaining the shopping centre and ensuring it meets all safety and quality standards.

What you will do

You will perform general maintenance and housekeeping tasks for the shopping centre buildings as part of Growthpoint’s planned and emergency maintenance programs. You will make sure the building follows all legal and company safety rules. You will respond quickly to complaints or questions from tenants and handle all related paperwork and follow-ups. You will also manage and respond to technical issues reported by clients on time.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and a Handyperson Course Certificate. A valid driver’s license is required, and a trade qualification would be a plus. You need at least 1 to 3 years of experience in maintenance, with plumbing experience being highly preferred. You should have basic knowledge of building maintenance tools, materials, and safety precautions. Skills in painting, tiling, electrical work, and other general handyperson tasks are essential. You must also be able to read and write in English.
