What the job is

This is a position for an Aftermarket Contract Manager at Fermel, a company in the mining and metals industry. The job is based in Alberton, Gauteng, but you will also need to work at Platreef Mine in Mokopane as required. You will be responsible for managing the aftermarket contract at the mine, ensuring all services are delivered effectively and meet the contract terms.

What you will do

You will manage the aftermarket contract at Platreef Mine, making sure all obligations, service-level agreements, and performance targets are met. You will oversee equipment maintenance, technical support, and spare parts availability. You will also handle customer relationships, financial management, and team supervision. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with safety regulations, prepare reports, and address any operational or technical issues that arise.

What you need

You need a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or a trade qualification with significant experience. You must have at least 7 to 10 years of experience in mining equipment maintenance, aftermarket services, or technical operations, with 3 to 5 years in contract or site management. Experience in underground mining, managing teams, budgets, and customer relationships is essential. A valid driver’s license is also required.
