What the job is
The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board is looking for two Investigators for its Inspectorate team. This government organization oversees and regulates gambling and horse racing in the Western Cape. The role is based in Parow and involves making sure that gambling businesses follow the law and their licensing conditions.
What you will do
You will conduct inspections and investigations at gambling premises to check if they are following the rules and regulations. You will look into complaints made by customers against gambling businesses and handle these cases thoroughly. You will identify risks, assess their impact, and come up with ways to reduce them. You will write detailed reports on your findings, keeping evidence for possible legal action. You will also work with gambling businesses to explain the laws and help them comply.
What you need
You need a National Diploma in Investigation, Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance Management, or a related field. You must have at least five years of experience in investigations or inspections within a regulatory environment. Knowledge of the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Act and related rules is a plus. You should have strong analytical, investigative, and computer skills, as well as good attention to detail. You must be able to write clear reports, resolve conflicts, work under pressure, and communicate well with different people. A valid driver’s license is required.
What you will get
The job offers a total yearly salary package of R508,112.79, which includes a 13th cheque. It is a permanent position, and the organization supports employment equity and affirmative action. Preference will be given to candidates living in the Western Cape.
