Jack Rabbit Chocolate is a well-known company that makes high-quality chocolates using traditional and modern methods. They are looking for a skilled Chocolatier to join their team in Sandton, Gauteng. This is a permanent position where you will help create delicious and premium chocolate products.

What you will do

You will make a variety of chocolate products like truffles, bonbons, chocolate bars, and seasonal treats. You will temper chocolate by hand and machine, prepare fillings and decorations, and use chocolate-making equipment safely. You will develop new chocolate recipes, test flavors, and scale them for large production. You will also keep track of ingredients, monitor product quality, and ensure the workspace is clean and follows food safety rules. Additionally, you will help train junior staff and work with the team to meet deadlines.

What you need

You must have a qualification in chocolatier studies, pastry arts, culinary arts, or a related field. You need at least 5 years of experience as a chocolatier, preferably between 5 and 8 years, in a commercial or artisanal chocolate environment. You should have advanced knowledge of chocolate tempering, molding, and enrobing, as well as experience with food safety and quality control. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Reliable transport to Sandton is also advantageous.
