What the job is
This is a Fixed Wing Pilot position with African Parks Network, based in Zakouma, Chad. The role involves flying aircraft to support conservation, wildlife protection, and park management in remote areas of Chad, including Zakouma National Park and other project sites. The job is a full-time, fixed-term contract for two years, with a rotation of 90 days on and 30 days off.
What you will do
You will conduct safe and efficient flight operations, including low-level aerial surveillance, wildlife surveys, and emergency response missions. You will also transport passengers, equipment, and supplies, and perform pre- and post-flight inspections. Additionally, you will assist with aircraft maintenance, manage airstrips and fuel supplies, and maintain accurate flight records. When not flying, you may support ground operations, logistics, and infrastructure maintenance.
What you need
You must have a valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) or higher, with a current rating for ICP Savannah and Cessna 182 aircraft. You need at least 700 hours of total flight time, a valid Instrument Rating (IR), and a Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate. Experience in bush or remote-area flying, short field take-offs and landings, and operating in challenging environments is required. Fluency in English is essential, and French is a plus. You must also have a valid passport and the ability to obtain work permits for Chad.
