What the job is

Assmang is looking for a Junior Maintenance Planner to join their team at Black Rock Mine Operations, located 80 kilometers northwest of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. This is a permanent position for someone who wants to grow in the mining industry. The role involves planning, scheduling, and monitoring maintenance activities to ensure the mine operates efficiently and cost-effectively.

What you will do

You will participate in change initiatives and provide feedback to improve processes. Your tasks will include collecting and verifying information, capturing data, and filing documents according to procedures. You will also propose practical improvements and take part in planning and executing maintenance plans for your section. Key responsibilities involve managing assets, ensuring financial resources for maintenance, and providing feedback on maintenance plans. You will attend various meetings, such as daily maintenance engineering reports and maintenance planning meetings, and work closely with other departments like Stores, GES, and OEM.

What you need

To qualify, you need a Grade 12 certificate and a Trade Test with at least an N3 qualification. You must have at least 3 years of experience as an artisan in mining or heavy industry, along with 1 year of experience in work planning and control within a mining maintenance environment. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for this role.
