What the job is
This is a full-time position for a General Manager Treasury and Strategic Finance at Eskom, based in Sunninghill, Gauteng. The role involves leading the Treasury and Strategic Finance department to ensure strong financial management, funding strategies, and risk control for the company’s operations and long-term investments.
What you will do
You will lead treasury and liquidity management to ensure the company has enough cash flow. You will drive capital raising, funding strategies, and manage the company’s capital structure. You will oversee financial risk management, including insurance and risk financing. You will manage investments and capital allocation to support the company’s growth. You will also provide strategic financial leadership and improve treasury systems and processes. Additionally, you will develop leadership and team capabilities within the finance department.
What you need
You need a degree (NQF Level 8) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Treasury, or a related field. A professional qualification like CFA, CA(SA), or ACT will be an advantage. You must have at least 10 years of experience in treasury, funding, capital markets, or financial risk management, with at least 5 years in a senior or executive role. Experience in large, complex organizations, especially in energy, infrastructure, or regulated environments, is preferred. You should also have strong knowledge of financial markets, risk analysis, debt funding, and treasury systems.
