What the job is

This is a permanent job for a Heavy Rigid Vehicle Driver at Eskom, a company in the electricity, energy, and water supply industry. The position is based in Cape Town and involves driving and operating specialized equipment for plant cleaning and heavy-duty delivery services within the Nuclear Services department.

What you will do

You will drive trucks and operate material handling equipment. You will also oversee the secure loading and offloading of materials. Part of your role includes performing driver administration duties, ensuring compliance with safety and control practices, and carrying out first-line maintenance on equipment and vehicles.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 certificate (Matric) or equivalent qualification. You need at least one year of experience with a Driver’s licence EC code 14 and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) or a driver’s licence for C1 trucks up to 8 tons. Important skills include knowledge of transport legislation, occupational health and safety, supply chain management, materials handling equipment, first aid, fire fighting, and environmental regulations. You should also be a team player with integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
