What the job is
This is a training opportunity for a National Certificate in Professional Cookery at Sun International’s Wild Coast Sun Casino in Port Edward, KwaZulu-Natal. The program is designed for energetic and motivated individuals who want to start a career in the hospitality industry, specifically in the food and beverage department.
What you will do
You will work in the kitchen area of the Food and Beverage Department, following all specified procedures to ensure high standards of guest service. Your role will involve preparing and cooking food, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and assisting the team in delivering excellent service to guests. You will also be expected to create a positive and efficient work environment that supports the casino’s reputation for quality.
What you need
To qualify, you must have a Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics or Maths Literacy. You need to be able to read, write, and speak English clearly. You must have a valid South African ID and be willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays. The job requires standing for long hours and working in a smoking environment. Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups as per the Employment Equity Act, as well as those from specific local areas such as Mgungundlovu Communal Property Association and surrounding licensed regions.
