What the job is
This is a job for a Professional Engineer specializing in Boiler Plant Engineering at Eskom, a major electricity and energy company in South Africa. The position is based at Lethabo Power Station in Deneysville, Free State. The role focuses on improving and maintaining the performance of the power plant’s boiler systems.
What you will do
You will work to optimize the performance of the boiler plant and solve any technical problems that arise. You will manage plant modifications and engineering projects to ensure everything runs smoothly. Providing technical advice and assistance to the team is also a key part of the job. Additionally, you will conduct root cause analysis to prevent future issues and follow engineering standards and policies.
What you need
You must have a BSc or B Eng Degree in Engineering with 480 credits at NQF level 8. You should have completed a graduate training program or have at least two years of engineering experience. Registration as a Candidate Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is required. Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, leadership, and financial management are important. Knowledge of engineering codes, plant policies, and Eskom’s processes is also necessary.
