What the job is
This is a job for a Repairs Manager at BCE FoodService Equipment, based in Roodepoort, Gauteng. The company is looking for someone to lead their repair team and make sure all equipment repairs are done efficiently, with high quality, and on time. The role is hands-on and involves managing technicians and the entire repair process from start to finish.
What you will do
You will manage the daily repair workflow and assign jobs to technicians. You will lead, train, and develop the technician team to ensure they perform well. You will be responsible for all job cards, making sure they are accurate and up to date. You will monitor open and aging repairs and push jobs to completion. You will also manage repair turnaround times and technician productivity. Additionally, you will ensure repairs meet quality standards, investigate repeat repairs, and work closely with other teams to keep the repair process smooth. You will handle escalated technical and customer issues, produce repair performance reports, and maintain high standards of safety and organization in the repair area.
What you need
You must have a Grade 12 or Matric certificate. You should also have a relevant technical or trade qualification. At least 5 years of experience in a workshop, repair, or technical environment is required, along with experience managing or supervising technicians. You need to be comfortable working with job card systems, have good computer skills, and be able to handle a high volume of jobs. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential, as well as a focus on quality and accuracy.
