What the job is

This is a full-time position for an Automotive Service Technician at Motus Corporation in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles according to manufacturer standards. You will work at the Multifranchise Menlyn service center, ensuring high-quality technical work to meet customer needs and company service goals.

What you will do

You will test drive vehicles to check repairs and diagnose issues. You will move between the workshop, service advisors, and parts department to create repair quotes. You will discuss repair orders with customers and service advisors, providing clear explanations. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics, including tasks like oil changes, part replacements, and major repairs such as engine or gearbox removal. You will use diagnostic equipment correctly and ensure all work meets manufacturer and warranty standards. You will also maintain accurate records, advise other mechanics, and keep the workspace clean and safe.

What you need

You should have experience as an automotive technician, preferably with knowledge of multiple vehicle brands (multifranchise). You must be able to diagnose faults accurately and provide cost-effective solutions. Strong communication skills are required to explain repairs to customers and collaborate with team members. You should also be physically fit, as the job involves standing, bending, and lifting. Completion of relevant OEM training is expected.
