What the job is

Dis-Chem Baby City is looking for a Sales Assistant to work at their store in Diamond Pavilion, Kimberley. This is a part-time position where you will help customers and ensure the store runs smoothly. You will be part of a retail team that focuses on providing great service and maintaining high standards in the store.

What you will do

You will assist customers with their purchases and answer any questions they have. You will process payments at the checkout, including cash, cards, and vouchers. You will keep the shelves stocked, check for low or damaged stock, and report any issues to management. You will help with stocktaking, loading and offloading stock, and setting up displays for promotions. You will ensure all products are neatly presented, labels and prices are correct, and promotional materials are put up on time. You will also handle customer complaints and queries professionally.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate (Grade 12). You should have at least one year of work experience in retail, though up to six months of experience may be considered. Good English skills, basic computer knowledge, and strong customer service abilities are required. You must be trustworthy, honest, and able to manage your time well. A certification in Retail Business Management would be an advantage. You must be a South African citizen with a clear credit and criminal record and be willing to work retail hours.
