What the job is

What you will do

You will oversee and manage all road construction activities to make sure they follow approved designs, specifications, and quality standards. You will provide technical supervision for roadworks and monitor progress to ensure everything meets project requirements. You will supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel, and handle quality control and quality assurance for all construction activities. You will review technical submissions, solve technical problems that come up during construction, and ensure all work complies with engineering standards and contractual obligations. You will also attend site meetings, keep accurate records, and make sure health, safety, and environmental rules are followed on site.

What you need

You must have a degree in Civil Engineering, such as a BEng, BSc Eng, or BTech, and be professionally registered with ECSA as either a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng). You need at least 20 years of experience in major road upgrade projects, including work with bulk earthworks, pavement layers, asphalt surfacing, retaining structures, and road construction. Strong technical knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and specifications is required, along with excellent project coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
