What the job is

This is a job for a Resident Engineer specializing in Structures. The role is part of a major road upgrade project on the N3 in Pinetown, Durban. The position is offered by RPO Recruitment and involves working on-site to oversee structural construction activities.

What you will do

You will provide technical leadership and supervise construction for structural works on the project. You will ensure all construction activities follow approved designs, specifications, and quality standards. You will manage contractors, review construction methods, and solve technical problems that come up during the project. You will also monitor progress, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and keep accurate records of all site activities.

What you need

You must have a degree in Civil Engineering (BEng, BSc Eng, or BTech) and be professionally registered with ECSA as either a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng). You need at least 20 years of experience in major road upgrade projects, with a strong background in structural works. You should also have excellent communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
