What the job is

Hire Resolve is looking for an experienced Project Manager to work for their client in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves managing engineering and mining equipment projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

What you will do

You will manage engineering and mining equipment projects and lead project teams. You will set up projects during the enquiry and award stages, coordinate teams, and conduct project kick-off meetings to establish objectives and deliverables. You will obtain client approval for project scope, schedules, pricing, and commercial conditions. You will develop and manage detailed project schedules, work packages, and budgets while monitoring expenditure. You will define quality targets, standards, and control procedures, and ensure effective communication between clients, teams, and external specialists. You will also identify and mitigate project risks, implement health, safety, and environmental requirements, manage project changes, and liaise with suppliers on technical matters.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 certificate, a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering, and a Project Management qualification. You should be registered or eligible for registration with ECSA. You need at least 10 years of project management experience, strong technical and project management skills in mining equipment, mineral processing, engineering, or related fields, and a valid driver’s license.
