What the job is

This is a permanent position for an HVAC Artisan at Bidvest Facilities Management in Vanrhynsdorp, Western Cape. The role involves maintaining and repairing air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and water reticulation systems to ensure they meet company and client standards.

What you will do

You will perform planned, preventative, and emergency maintenance on air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and water reticulation units. You will install and commission new equipment as per specifications. You will inspect facilities and equipment to identify risks and report issues for correction. You will ensure all maintenance work complies with relevant laws, service level agreements, and job plans. You will also provide regular updates to your supervisor and the client about the progress of repairs and restorations.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate and an N3 to N6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering. A trade test in HVAC (Air-conditioning and Refrigeration) is required, along with at least 5 years of experience as an artisan in this field. You need a valid South African driver’s license and experience with digital control systems. Basic computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook are also necessary, along with knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
