What the job is

This is a full-time Management Accountant position at SAFAL Group, a manufacturing company based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The role involves preparing financial reports, analyzing costs, and helping the company make smart financial decisions to improve efficiency and profitability.

What you will do

You will prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management accounts. You will review monthly financial performance, analyze product pricing, and check cost reports for all plants to ensure accuracy. You will also work with plant controllers to control production costs and improve financial strategies. Additionally, you will assist with budget preparation, forecast profits and losses, and support audits to ensure financial statements are completed on time. You will maintain the ERP system, ensure data accuracy, and help with system upgrades and training. You will also handle statutory data requests from government departments and provide financial advice to other teams.

What you need

You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting, and a professional qualification such as CA(SA) or CIMA. You need at least 15 years of general work experience, with 10 years specifically in a management accounting or similar role within the manufacturing industry. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with ERP systems like SAP are essential.
