What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Field Production Coordinator at eMedia Investments, based in Johannesburg North, Gauteng. The role involves organizing and supporting all television news field operations, including digital and other platforms, to ensure smooth and high-quality broadcasts.

What you will do

You will plan and coordinate schedules for anchors, reporters, camera crews, and other production staff. This includes arranging transport, accommodation, permits, and equipment for field assignments. You will also act as the main contact between the newsroom, field crews, and external stakeholders during broadcasts. Additionally, you will handle administrative tasks like maintaining records of assignments, equipment usage, and costs, while ensuring all activities comply with safety and legal requirements. You will conduct risk assessments, brief teams on safety procedures, and monitor field operations to address any issues promptly.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate (NQF Level 4) and preferably a National Diploma in Media, Journalism, Communications, or TV Production. At least 3 years of experience in television production, preferably in news, is required. You should have a valid Code B driver’s license and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Dalet or other newsroom computer systems is a plus. Strong planning, organizing, and decision-making skills are essential.
